Hello, we are the three founders of the Mil Colinas travel agency. Each of us has more than 10 years of experience as a professional tour guide. We speak Spanish, Portuguese, and English. We have worked with groups that do pilgrimage (religious tourism), groups of cultural tours and with people or groups that were traveling just to have fun. We have thousands of friends from different countries thanks to our work.

It is almost an obligation to put an “about us” at the beginning of a company website, generally speaking only about professionalism, experience in the sector, etc. But if you do a job like ours, you have to deepen the matter. We sometimes spend 12-15 days with our groups, from arrival to departure at the airport. We are together in museums, restaurants, hotels, and buses, etc. We prepared this text so that you can get to know us better.

JOAQUIN

I am Akin, or Joaquín, as my friends call me.
‍I was born in the Aegean region of Turkey. My childhood was spent among the ruins of ancient cities and thus my passion for history and ancient architecture was born.
‍At university I studied public relations, journalism and photography. In this period, I also began to pursue my other passion: traveling.
‍From my first year at university, I started to travel in my country by hitchhiking. Each trip in Turkey fascinated me more because of the impressive cultural variety and immense historical and geographical richness of Turkey. Soon this was no longer enough, and when I turned 24, I realized my great dream, a long trip outside of Turkey. The route was challenging but rewarding; Iran, Pakistan, India and Nepal for one month, with little money, and by land. And thus the trips continued. Until now I have been to 79 countries; I lived for short periods in Salamanca, Granada, Recife, Salvador de Bahia, Rome, New York, Saint Petersburg and Athens.
‍Over time, traveling became my job too, and in 2007 I started working as a professional guide.In the last 4 years my life changed a lot as my son Ege and my daughter Asya were born. To spend more time with them, I stopped traveling a bit. I am now looking forward to sharing my wealth of knowledge with visitors to my beautiful country.

SERGIO

Hello! I am Sercan, or Sergio, as my friends calls me. I was born in a small town called Zonguldak in northern Turkey.
‍I studied linguistics at the academy in my hometown because I always respected people who spoke several languages. I left my parents’ house for the first time to study tourism at university in Cappadocia, which totally changed my life and my vision. After completing my studies, I started working in the same region as a guide in English.
‍One of the most important decisions I made in my life was to go to Spain in 2009 to learn Spanish. I met thousands of people from all Latin countries. Turkish and Latin people share many common characteristics so we easily become friends. At the time of the soap opera ‘Salve Jorge o Guerrera’, we received many Brazilians so I managed to speak Portuguese.
I am 37 years old and I am a married man. My wife, Aysegul, is from western Turkey In 2008 we officially joined our lives and God gave us 2 children, our son Cinar and our daughter Zeynep.

KORI

Hi, I’m Koray, or as many call me, Kori.
I am 36 years old, I am Turkish and I was born in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. I am an archaeologist and I worked in different archaeological excavations in Laodicea and in Toledo in Spain.
After studying archeology for two years at the University of Pamukkale and spending two years studying Spanish at the University of Alcalá in Spain, I entered the tourism sector. I worked in different branches of tourism in Cappadocia and Istanbul. I have more than 10 years of experience as a professional guide and I worked on tours with Spanish-speaking people.
I also lived in Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. With all the experience that I have, I know what a tourist looks for and wants when traveling in other countries; I am a tourist too, I love traveling with my family. In recent years, my wife, my 5-year-old son and I have travelled to more than 20 countries. My experience and my passion for being a tourist myself led me to decide to offer these services with my own travel agency.
